Controversies
 +
 +
Like all true progressive and highly visionary leaders, Charles Dukwe is not exempt from controversies. One of his most famous controversial endeavors is the women in oil initiative where Dukwe persuaded over 100,000 Nigerian women to pay average of $40 dollars each for basic oil and gas training with promises of building a fully-fledged oil and gas company that will help alleviate their economic hardships through compassionate dividend payments to them. The scheme he said was orchestrated to capitalize on the government legislation of 35% affirmative action for women to draw immense financial benefits from the oil and gas sector in Nigeria seeing that women had only a mere 2% participation in the nation's energy sector though it was the main stay of the economy. Many in the country which is already laden with corruption saw this as nothing but a ploy to extort money from women in the society with even the then President Goodluck Jonathan calling the scheme fraudulent on national TV and various government agencies arresting Dukwe and his teeming followers.
 +
 +
Charles Dukwe was highly infuriated and in his very combatant nature engaged the government in a fierce media war as well as countless law suits and court proceedings. He challenged the President on national TV broadcast asking why he would enact 35% affirmative policy if he had no intention to let the average women partake of the benefits of the policy. He famously also asked if the policy was only for the "Maduekes and NOT the Ekaettes of our country"(a reference to the then first female petroleum minister-Alison Madueke who was a close friend of the President being compared to a particular name for housemaids in the country-Ekaette). In less than a few months, the government completely abandoned Dukwe and his establishment, his teeming followers grew and all his frozen business bank accounts were released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)-Africa's largest anti-graft agency in a move rarely even seen in the history of Nigeria.
 +
 +
Dukwe's theory of compassionate capitalism has also come under criticism by people especially those with less education who decry it as too good to be true hence most likely a scam and his belief in not paying lazy African workers who contribute nothing to organizations they work for but believe that salaries are an entitlement regardless of what one did, has brought endless backlash from those that have been affected by his seemingly extreme views. Charles Dukwe is also known to be a very tough disciplinarian type of boss often having his listeners lift their hands for long periods of time, sometimes kneeling adults down and other supposedly difficult training sessions which again has been criticized by some while many more will tell you he made them the man they have become. His mixture of business and faith yet curses at those ravaging the continent is a paradox in the ears of many. The most controversial to the ears of most Africans is his constant message that the key to grow Africa's economy is to reduce the size of the government-kick the government out of all sectors, send them to backroom paperwork. A fiscal conservative yet a social liberal who hates foreign Aid and constantly says that Africa should start Africa's Aid to the world's poor especially the poor in the United States of America!
 +
 +
The biggest controversy however remains the question most people ask which is "What does Charles Dukwe really want?". Many say he wants to one day become President, others believe he just wants to make more money and many more believe he is on a divine mission to change Africa but only time, maybe a whole lifetime will provide answers because according to the man himself, he says "If I had my way, I won't do this organization, I will go relax in Florida and enjoy the palm trees as a business consultant but I can't help it. Africa must no longer be synonymous with poverty and death".

Early Life and Education

Charles Dukwe was born on October 5th, 1973 in Akure, Ondo State in the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the Ndukwe family of Ovim just at a time when the country was healing from the Biafra civil war. The chick that will grow into a cock can be spotted the very day it hatches as the Igbo say and this was the case with Charles Dukwe. In school he held various leadership positions; he was the President of the drama club, vice-President of the press club, secretary of the literary and debate society. It was during this stage in life that he wrote his first play, ‘When the Samba Broke’ at a tender age of sixteen! He moved on to further write another book ‘Wait Until Dawn’ at the age of 19. Determination knows no barrier and Charles Dukwe excelled and got an admission to Enugu State University of Science and Technology to undertake a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing Management. He had offers to study medicine but declined since has preferred business, a decision that has paid off. His dissertation has been hailed as innovate and was lauded by none other than Professor Udeagha, Nigeria’s first professor in marketing who termed the thesis ‘Incredible and Astonishing’. Charles Dukwe graduated and proceeded to the Regent's Business School London, where he pursued a double Masters in International Management
and Masters in Business Administration (MBA).

This forced him to take a temporary break from the business world which he loved and venture in the world of politics in the United States. This came at a time when a black was just on the verge of winning the Democratic Party ticket to contest for the presidency of the United States of America. Charles Dukwe displayed his dynamism and a special but strange ability to connect his strategic business intelligence to politics. He was the architect behind the highly cherished poem-‘Obama Soldier’-which spoke volumes about the little known law graduate. Charity

Doing the right thing is not negotiable, it must be done, and this is the driving ideology behind Charles Dukwe’s philanthropy and works of charity. Just like the Biblical servant, he feeds those who are hungry, cares for the sick and aged and provides shelter to the homeless.

Dukwe giving food supplies to women in Kibera Kenya.
Charles Dukwe giving SUV to his staff

This is a mission he believes is in line with the work of the Lord, a God who is a provider for all and who shows kindness to the less fortunate. Charles Dukwe has fed families in Kenya especially in Kibera slums, given 1000 bags of rice to poor women in Nigeria, built a government road using his own money, bought 12 vehicles for his staff and given funds to Port Harcourt prison.

In addition, Charles Dukwe has called for the involvement of the private sector so as to improve the collapsing the education sector in Africa, released unjustly held prisoners in Nigeria, called for elderly support and protection and provided low cost medical services for the elderly.

Personal life

Charles Dukwe is viewed by many Africans over 300 to be precise and the number is growing as a father. In addition he blessed with two sons-Don and Shawn. His official residence is in Port Harcourt, Rivers State in Nigeria and has a residence in London, the United Kingdom. He has committed the rest of his life to the development of the African continent; a journey he believes will surpass 40 years of active service to the cradle of humanity.

Awards

Charles Dukwe has been nominated for various awards due to his exemplary performance in the service to humanity. However, he has only made time to pick the UN Affiliate ‘Ambassador of Peace’ Award. Publications Charles Dukwe is the author of ‘Compassionate Capitalism’ as the key to global peace. He was branded as the ‘African Oracle’ after his public speech on the imminent dangers of greed controlled capitalism and his prediction on the global financial meltdown in Atlanta Georgia, USA four years prior to the recession. Charles Dukwe has in addition managed to be the first African to file 1000 original quotes, not regurgitation and citations, with the US Library of Congress. His literary works include:

• Wait Until Dawn

When the Samba Broke

Understanding your Rights in Nigeria

Controversies

Like all true progressive and highly visionary leaders, Charles Dukwe is not exempt from controversies. One of his most famous controversial endeavors is the women in oil initiative where Dukwe persuaded over 100,000 Nigerian women to pay average of $40 dollars each for basic oil and gas training with promises of building a fully-fledged oil and gas company that will help alleviate their economic hardships through compassionate dividend payments to them.
