Jamal Lewis injured!

Cleveland Browns running back Jamal Lewis left Sunday's game (October 7th) against the New England Patriots with an injured right foot and did not return. Lewis ran just once, gaining 11 yards on the Browns' first offensive play.

October Fantasy Players

At Quarterback, let's see how age (Brett Favre - 1205 yards in September) matches up against youth (Tony Romo - 1199 yards). At Running Back, let's pit the father of 9 children by 9 different women in 4 different states (Travis Henry - 433 September yards) against an unabashed supporter of the Maryland Terrapin women's basketball program (LaMont Jordan - 424 yards). At Running Back, let's pit former Raven RB Jamal Lewis (371 yards, now with Cleveland), versus new Raven RB Willis McGahee (376 yards). And, at Wide Receiver, let's pick receivers on teams that appear headed in opposite directions -- Detroit (Roy Williams - 388 yards, accounting for only 28% of the Lions' receiving total) versus the AFC team from New Jersey (Jerricho Cotchery - 382 yards, and bearing 44% of Jets' receiving load).

Confusion cleared up

The following e-mail message came in from the hilarious Steve McDonald:

Not only is New Orleans not going anyplace; they are not even playing
this week. This is not a good omen for those of us who may have picked
Drew Brees as a fantasy pick for the 1st 4 weeks, and are securely
esconced on the bottom (17th I am, I am) in the fantasy picks scoring.
Unless there is something I missed in the rules set down by
the Commish, that means my guy sits (0) while Peyton--300+ yards
per game--Manning plays. I would accuse you of deception and
trickeration, but it appears that you picked DB(like Coooper he
disappears without a trace)rees, too. I guess that will teach me
never again to blindly trust others(lawyers are notorious for that).
However, I assure that nobody's been "trickerated". The rules clearly state: If any of the teams on which these players are rostered have a bye in the schedule, the average of their 3 other games' yardage will be normalized into that blank 4th game.
No harm, no foul.
