"Sarey Savy" also known as Baby Rey (born March 1, 1996) is a Cambodian American actor and singer-songwriter. He is globally known from "America's Got Talent". Sarey is one of the limited Cambodian singers that have made a trend virtually and internationally according to YouTube statistics[1].

Sarey has two sisters and one brother

In June 2010, Savy was confirmed Bisexual.

Career

The singer's career started when he garnered attention on becoming one of AGT's "Top 40 YouTube Performers" which the main role of "Alex" was given to Savy for the independent film Sanitorium which remains unreleased. Throughout his aspiring career virally he has been the attention to Cambodian bloggers[2].

Savy modeled for popular LGBT organizations such as NOH8, Think Before You Speak and GLSEN. "I want to do ancient Greece type of structures so yes, partial nudity when i turn 18". A leaked photo that is questioning others by Savy's appearance has hit the internet[3].

Music

Savy released his promotional single Murderer in 2009 which was commercially unsuccessful, Yet still has had airplay on stations like Kube93.3 and also Z100.

Sarey has stated the first single is to be released in the spring of 2011 independently. As stating on OceanUp.com, the singer says his main focus is to portray a party-like image via his musical influences "Dev" and "The Cataracs" for people to see his maturity. "Baby Rey" is Sarey's mononym name, his 2011 persona will be seen as electro pop and electro hop, his current influences are "The Cataracs" "Dev" and "Ke$ha". Savy's voice lies in the Tenor the highest male registry. Savy's promo single 808 debuted at #39 on Directory:Hot Dance Club Songs for 2011. His first single is stated to be released on March 1.

Sarey gained a second chance at global attention on the International Music Festival also known as IMF as the winner of the Seattle market for the top 70[4].

Philanthropy

Sarey has also helped Haiti after the hard 9.0 magnitude earthquake by raising/volunteering to recieve $10,000 alongside the "British Red Cross" [5].

He also joined 5 campaigns NOH8 and Think Before You Speak. Also Savy's 3rd campaign Glee.com a place to meet other gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender people as of September 2010 [6]. He is also in the process of joining a new website as a spokesperson named "The YOT" (The Youth Out There) [7]. Along with pop singer Ke$sha, Tim Gunn, Anne Hathaway and other celebrities Sarey Savy joined the "It Gets Better" project to help stop gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender bullying.

Controversy

On KHMER.CC there is a controversy about Savy coming out as Bisexual. One says "He is too young to be coming out at an early age. Possibly he is an experimental bisexual male." Another says, "Kids his age are figuring out who they are and should be proud they are not hiding no more" [8].

The Next Michael Jackson

MJ's fansites globally are trending about Savy becoming a "Cambodian Michael Jackson" ever since the singer released "Murderer". The singer says on Facebook "I could NEVER replace MJ but, he is 60% of the reason why i decided to do music" [9][10][11][12].
